We all love picking out our favorite images to make the best VoteBash buttons! But sometimes those images don’t turn out to be exactly what we want them to be. The VoteBash blog presents 5 tips for making your buttons the best they can be, otherwise known as:
The Top 5 Worst Buttons of All Time
5) The Ambiguous Image
Sometimes the image that fits perfectly with your button is already round. Score! However, without a clear border, it can be hard to figure out what your image is actually supposed to be.
Above, we have a button that is supposed to look like the planet Mars. And it does… sort of. Or it just resembles a mountain overflowing with lava from a volcano. To make your buttons stand out, make sure they can be easily identified.
4) The Indiscernible Logo
When talking about a specific company, using the logo can seem like the easiest choice in the world! However, not all logos are round. It’s important to choose an image that allows you to surround the entire logo, not just show an unidentifiable portion.
The NBC logo above is definitely not identifiable as such. But not being able to recognize a logo isn’t the only way to mess up your button, bringing us to Bad Button Number 3…
3) The Off-Centered Image
Having an off-center image is probably the easiest mistake to fix, and the one that makes you look the most lazy. Below, the Starbucks image is easy to recognize, but could have just as easily been moved slightly to the right. Worse yet, it’s circular. It would actually fit perfectly.
So avoid the appearance of being a lazy VoteBash user and center your buttons!
2) The Easy Option
Sure, it’s so easy to just make a third Starbucks logo button, but you know you’re more creative than that. So, instead of just using a picture of a plane for a travel question (see below), think of something more related to the question! Or, better yet, make up your own image!
It’s off-centered too. Oh the irony. But, no matter how bad these previous buttons have big, they can’t compare to the buttons that make the biggest mistake of all time…
1) What is that?
There are a lot of ways to mess up your button, but using an image that doesn’t make any sense is a big way to do it. Can you guess what the question was for the button below? Neither can we.
(If it’s killing you, click the button to find out the question).
Avoid all these mistakes, and your button will be fun, fresh, and identifiable. Happy voting!
